When will the children have holidays in 2018?

It has long been no secret that the Russian Ministry of Education draws up a school holiday schedule every year. Changes happen quite rarely. Vacation days can only move forward or backward a couple of days. Actually, the changes did not affect 2018. Parents and students should understand that the schedule is a guideline only. Thus, officials can only indicate the approximate dates for the start and end of the holidays. But the specific cherished vacation is determined by the school administration. Therefore, we see different vacation dates in different educational institutions.

Autumn vacation those children who study in quarters will begin in 2018 at the end of October. National Unity Day affects the end date of the autumn holidays. Fall holiday dates will approximately be from October 28th to November 6th.

Regarding winter holidays, then they take place in the first ten days of January. The dates of winter holidays are always the same for both types of study - trimesters and quarters. School holidays, of course, coincide with the New Year. The first working day after the celebrations comes on January 9 or 10. Winter holidays approximately begin on December 25 and last until January 9.

There are also additional holidays for first graders. Since the children are not yet accustomed to the hard work of school, the government decided to give them an additional week of rest in February.

Spring holiday falls at the end of March and ends in early April. There are no public holidays during this period, so the last days of rest depend on weekends. In 2018, the spring holiday date begins on March 26 and ends on April 1-2.

Any accountant needs to have a production calendar for 2018 on hand. After all, it is on the basis of this calendar that the standard working time for the next year is determined. Moreover, the Russian production calendar for 2018 with weekends and holidays will allow you to distribute working days, keep time sheets and control working hours. In this material you can view and download the production calendar for 2018 with a five-day and six-day working week.

Production calendar: what is it

The concept of “production calendar” is inextricably linked with working time. After all, the production calendar marks all working and non-working days (weekends and holidays). Therefore, based on the production calendar, organizations and individual entrepreneurs can organize the working hours of their employees in 2018.

For ease of use, the production calendar contains both general quarterly information about the number of working days and weekends, as well as information for each month. If we talk about an accountant, this information allows him to accurately and quickly calculate wages, pay sick leave, calculate vacation or draw up a work schedule. As for employees, they can choose the most favorable period for vacation. In other words, the production calendar for 2018 is a universal document that can become the basis for the rational distribution of working time and for maintaining a time sheet in the next year.

Such a concept as a “production calendar” is not approved by the legislation of the Russian Federation. That’s why they don’t call it “in public”. Among other names of the production calendar there are, for example:

  • Working days calendar;
  • Time calendar;
  • Labor calendar;
  • Work calendar;
  • Working time calendar;
  • Working hours calendar;
  • Calendar of annual working hours.

Approval of the production calendar for 2018

The production calendar for 2018 is not approved as an official document. There is neither a federal law nor a government decree, annex to which would be a production calendar for the next year available for viewing and downloading.

At the same time, Article 112 of the Labor Code of the Russian Federation defines non-working holidays, and the Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation of October 14, 2017 No. 1250 “On the transfer of weekends in 2018”. These regulatory legal acts are the basis for the formation of the production calendar for 2018 with weekends and holidays.

Non-working holidays in 2018 according to the Labor Code of the Russian Federation

Non-working holidays in the Russian Federation are:

  • January 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 8 – New Year;
  • January 7 – Christmas;
  • February 23 – Defender of the Fatherland Day;
  • March 8 – International Women's Day;
  • May 1 – Spring and Labor Day;
  • May 9 – Victory Day;
  • June 12 – Russia Day;
  • November 4 is National Unity Day.

This list of non-working holidays is fixed and does not change from year to year. It is enshrined in Article 112 of the Labor Code of the Russian Federation.

Regional legislation may establish additional non-working holidays in addition to the all-Russian ones (Part 1 of Article 6 of the Labor Code of the Russian Federation, Resolution of the Presidium of the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation dated December 21, 2011 No. 20-ПВ11).

All these dates are included in the 2018 production calendar with holidays. Moreover, according to the rules of Article 112 of the Labor Code of the Russian Federation, a holiday that coincides with a weekend is “shifted” to the working day immediately following the holiday. In 2018, such a day is Sunday, November 4, which means that Monday, November 5 will be a non-working day.

However, there is an exception that applies to New Year’s “vacations”: days from January 1 to January 8, coinciding with weekends, can be transferred to other days of the year. Usually they are added to other holidays, thereby “lengthening” them and changing the calendar of working days. Next, we will talk about transfers in 2018 in more detail.

Postponement of holidays in 2018

Article 112 of the Labor Code of the Russian Federation provides that the transfer of days off is carried out for the purpose of rational planning of working time in organizations and taking into account the interests of various categories of citizens of the Russian Federation in creating conditions for proper rest. For these purposes, Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation of October 14, 2017 No. 1250 “On the transfer of weekends in 2018” provides for the following shift of weekends:

As you can see, the weekends of January 6 and 7 (Saturday and Sunday) 2018, coinciding with non-working holidays, have been moved to March 9 and May 2, respectively. Rest days from Saturday 28 April, Saturday 9 June and Saturday 29 December have been moved to Monday 30 April, Monday 11 June and Monday 31 December respectively. Taking into account such transfers, the 2018 calendar includes six long weekends and holidays:

  • from December 30, 2017 to January 8, 2018 inclusive (10 days of the New Year holidays);
  • from February 23 to 25 (3 days on the occasion of Defender of the Fatherland Day);
  • from March 8 to 11 (4 days - International Women's Day);
  • from April 29 to May 2 (4 days for the Spring and Labor Festival);
  • from June 10 to 12 (3 days to celebrate Russia Day);
  • from November 3 to 5 (3 days dedicated to National Unity Day).

Five-day and six-day working weeks: working hours in 2018

In 2018, everyone involved in the “five-day week” will work in the rhythm indicated above. For those working on a six-day week, March 9, April 30, June 11 and December 31, 2018 will remain working days, since the transfer of days off to these dates is planned from Saturdays that coincide with non-working holidays, and for the “six-day week” Saturday is not a day off. Therefore, the number of working days, weekends and holidays for these work modes in 2018 will vary.

Production calendars with a five-day and six-day work schedule will also have their own characteristics.

Production calendar for 2018 during the “five-day week”

Here is the production calendar for 2018 with a five-day working week.

You can see that each week, as a general rule, has 5 working days and 2 days off (Saturday and Sunday). Following the links below, you can download the production calendar for 2018 with a five-day working week in a format suitable for you. Please note that the above files also contain a detailed breakdown of working time standards for a “five-day week” by month and hour.

Production calendar for 2018 with a six-day week

Now let's look at the production calendar for 2018 with a six-day work week with weekends and holidays. The production calendar shows the standard working hours for months, quarters and 2018 as a whole, as well as the number of working days and days off for a six-day work week with one day off.

Using the links you can download the production calendar for 2018 with a six-day working week in a format suitable for you. It shows the standard working hours for months, quarters and 2018 as a whole, as well as the number of working days and days off for a six-day work week with one day off.

Working hours standards in 2018

The standard working time for certain periods of time is calculated according to the estimated schedule of a five-day work week with two days off on Saturday and Sunday based on the following duration of daily work (shift):

  • with a 40-hour work week – 8 hours;

On the eve of non-working holidays, working hours are reduced by 1 hour (Article 95 of the Labor Code of the Russian Federation).

So, for example, in January 2018, with a five-day work week with two days off, there are 17 working days and 14 days off. Therefore, the working hours in January 2018 in Goa are:

  • with a 40-hour work week – 136 hours (40 hours: 5 days × 17 days);
  • with a 36-hour work week – 122.4 hours (36 hours: 5 days × 17 days);
  • with a 24-hour work week – 81.6 hours (24 hours: 5 days × 17 days).

In 2018, with a five-day work week with two days off:

  • 247 working days, including six pre-holiday days - February 22, March 7, April 28, May 8, June 9 and December 29;
  • 118 days off, taking into account five additional days of rest - March 9, May 2, April 30, June 11, December 31 due to the transfer in accordance with the Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation of October 14, 2017 No. 1250 - January 6, 7, April 28, June 9, December 29th.

The standard working time in 2018, taking into account the above, is:

  • with a 24-hour work week – 1179.6 hours (24 hours: 5 days × 247 days – 6 hours).

Standard working hours for a six-day work week

The standard working time for certain periods of time is calculated according to the calculated schedule of a five-day work week with two days off on Saturday and Sunday. That is, the standard hours for the reporting period for a six-day work week coincides with the standards for a five-day work week. A different calculation procedure and different work standards depending on the schedule would lead to discrimination among employees.

The general procedure for calculating standards in 2018 is based on the following duration of daily work or shift:

  • with a 40-hour work week – eight hours;
  • if the working week is less than 40 hours, the number of hours obtained by dividing the established working week by five days.

For a standard six-day work week, transfers from January 6 to March 9, from April 28 to April 30, from June 9 to June 11, from December 29 to December 31 do not apply, since Saturdays are working days for such a schedule. This means that a holiday and a day off do not coincide, therefore, there is no transfer of the day off. That is, March 9, April 30, June 11, December 31, 2018, with a standard six-day work schedule, are working days.

Please note that the absence of weekend transfers will not affect the procedure for determining time standards for a six-day work week, since the standards are calculated according to the schedule of a five-day working week. And the standard working time calculated in the above order applies to all modes of work and rest. Consequently, the standard working time in 2018 with a six-day working week is also (as with a “five-day week”):

  • with a 40-hour work week – 1970 hours (40 hours: 5 days × 247 days – 6 hours);
  • with a 36-hour work week – 1772.4 hours (36 hours: 5 days × 247 days – 6 hours);
  • with a 24-hour work week – 1179.6 hours (24 hours: 5 days × 247 days – 6 hours.
