Reflection: “Teacher…. Profession or calling?

You have to love what you do, and then
labor, even the roughest, is elevated
to creativity. (M. Gorky)

The summer holidays passed quickly, the vacation ended, and the school began a new academic year. The first day of September is as fine as always: the sun is shining brightly, a light autumn breeze is blowing. All the schoolchildren are in a hurry to sit down at their desks; passers-by are running and hurrying; cars are passing by... It seems that the whole world has woken up from a dream - it began to fuss, came to life. Students are also rushing to the vocational school, an old educational institution in the city of Bezhetsk, Tver Region, which traces its history back to the distant twenties of the last century. For some students, the school has already become their home, while others will only cross the threshold of this educational institution for the first time. What awaits them there, how they will be received there, whether they will be able to realize their life plans - all these, and perhaps even more experiences, doubts lurk in the minds of future teachers. Indeed, for them, in fact, a new life begins: new friends, new teachers, new unknown subjects, difficulties and mistakes, ups and downs. The students are worried, because there is something to worry about: at school they were weak, unsuccessful students, with low culture, with poor behavior and discipline. What will happen here? Will they be scolded here, or maybe someday praised? Will they give unsatisfactory grades, or maybe they will become more successful than at school? You can ask a lot of such rhetorical questions on the first day of September, and the answers will appear later, when a month or two has passed, and students will already be able to compare college and school, and say where they feel better, more comfortable, calmer.
The merit of teachers is no less important in ensuring that those who once again cross the threshold of a vocational school feel like part of a large team of students and teachers. Therefore, the first day of September is also alarming and exciting for teachers: on this fine autumn day they will see their new students and meet those who have already entered the second and third years. Once again there will be lessons, class hours, dialogues, conversations with students, arguments, disputes, a lot of interesting, and sometimes thorny things. The teachers of the Bezhetsk Vocational School are a friendly, close-knit team. There are no random people in vocational schools; those who work here are people dedicated to their profession. Elderly teachers, honored education workers, and young proactive teachers work here. Everyone equally deserves the respect and love of their students. How can a teacher, an ordinary ordinary person, with his everyday worries and experiences, manage to do this?
Profession school teacher
Beautiful, important and necessary!
And every resident of our country
He thinks: she is honorable!
Teacher holding the hand from childhood
Leads children into the world of adults,
And gives them an inheritance of knowledge,
And he gives the students a pass.

In my opinion, the interpretation of a teacher as a school teacher is not entirely correct. Any parent; an older brother (sister) in a large family, a sports coach, a teacher - all of them are teachers to one degree or another. The ancient maxim “By teaching, we ourselves learn” can be considered fundamental in the work of a teacher. After all, teenagers who come to learn a profession also teach us adults a lot. The main thing, as I believe, now, in our modern raging world, is the problem of educating and training Man.
It seems to me that not every person is capable of being a good teacher in precisely this sense of the word. Indeed, in addition to the fact that the teacher must love and respect every child, no matter what he is, he must also be a master of his craft. After all, you might be surprised how limitless the world of a teacher seems to us. A real teacher should know the answer to any question that a child might ask him.
Always wonder what it means to be a good teacher? What kind of teacher do students love and respect? You can say a lot of words about the teaching profession, about its complexity, difficulties, a lot of words can be said about the qualities of working teachers.
The teaching profession has always remained the most honorable, but at the same time the most difficult. The ability to convey your experience to young people just entering independent life is a talent.
Probably every teacher wants his student to achieve success in the future. And, of course, every teacher is pleased when this happens. But the most important joy for a teacher is the gratitude of his students. It is no coincidence that the Tver poet A. Dementyev wrote: “Russia is famous for its teachers, and its students bring glory to it.” The most important thing for a teacher is for his students to settle well in life, master a prestigious profession, and most importantly, become worthy, decent people, highly moral, principled, firm, humane, and attentive to people.
Teacher…. Creator….. Creator…. The blacksmith of children's souls... Vocational school teachers understand that the difficulty of their work is that they work with difficult teenagers who require special attention. The people who work in vocational schools are selfless, faithful to their work, very sensitive and attentive, capable of understanding the soul of every student. Teachers, masters, and school educators are always ready to lend a helping hand to teenagers who have not yet entered adulthood. The outstanding teacher-educator J. Korczak wrote: “There is an incorrect opinion that excessive goodwill spoils children: they let themselves go, pay for kindness with disobedience and are not afraid of punishment.”

After all, a teacher is not only a “source of knowledge and skills,” but also an adviser, assistant, and friend. I think that a modern teacher needs to have qualities such as patience, attentiveness, intelligence, tact, restraint, stress resistance, mobility, and erudition. It’s good when a teacher has a sense of style, proportion, humor, and masters technical means and technologies.
The work of a teacher is daily preparation for lessons, selection of interesting material, passion for his subject, additional knowledge, and the ability to convey it to children.
Nowadays they write and talk a lot about the need to turn every lesson into a process of active and creative learning, during which children discover the wonderful world of spiritual values. This is achieved by true masters, teachers who not only have extensive knowledge, but also feel the psychology of the child.
The teacher brings goodness and instills in the souls of students confidence in the future. A teacher is an example, a model, a standard. Of course, a teacher must, first of all, be demanding of himself, of his actions and thoughts, engage in self-education every day, hourly, and think through his dialogue with students. Each student has a different attitude towards their teachers: some are strict but fair, some are kind but demanding, some explain in an interesting and understandable way...
Teacher - who is this?
Mentor or edifier?
Or maybe he is a creator and soul sculptor?
Or maybe just a person
Leaving a mark forever?
And simplicity and depth of soul
Able to build “bridges” in life,
Give everyone knowledge and skills,
Share your good mood!
Teacher - who is this?
Who can give a simple answer?
He is a friend, He is a brother, a guide,
And that’s all – the word TEACHER!
And now the new students are sitting in the classroom. You look into everyone’s eyes and think, because each of them has dreams, hopes, worries, and you, as a teacher-mentor, should be there, help, teach. On the first day of school, students fearfully look around the unfamiliar environment, fearfully glance at each other and teachers, and begin to get to know each other. The most difficult September days of adaptation to unfamiliar conditions are coming, and it will be difficult for us, teachers, too, because from year to year new students come, faces change, but the souls of students always require attention, kindness, sympathy, and sometimes support that they do not have There is enough home in the family. All the teachers of the school love their school with all their souls, they have become close to it, and cannot imagine their life without it.

The pages of the calendar are turning over, time is inexorably rushing forward: autumn will be replaced by winter, winter holidays will begin. You look, and those students who walked with anxiety on the first of September, then violated discipline in class, thereby attracting attention to themselves, received bad grades, suddenly became family, the best. And it was the teacher who was able to instill in their souls a piece of kindness, understanding, humanity, good manners, and love. Students are happy to be involved in the educational process: they take part in various extracurricular activities and become teacher assistants in the classroom. The traditions that exist at the school, annual extracurricular events: literary compositions, sports games, hikes, visits to museums and libraries - not only broaden the horizons of students, but also attract them to become initiators of new ideas and achievements.

This begs the answer to the question - how to become a beloved teacher so that your students respect you - you just need to love your profession and children, accept them for who they really are, and also by your personal example make them better, cleaner, enrich them with knowledge and culture . Vocational school teachers are truly the blacksmiths of human souls; they not only open the way to life for teenagers, but also enrich their wounded soul with spiritual and moral concepts.

Essay “Teacher - profession or vocation”

Mathematics teachers of MKOU secondary school No. 23

Nebotova Diana Sergeevna

Every person should fulfill his calling on earth conscientiously and honestly.
Nikolai Vasilyevich Gogol

Who didn't dream of becoming a teacher as a child? Even from my school desk, I looked at my teachers with deep respect and admiration. I liked their work. I always dreamed of checking notebooks, telling and explaining material, completing assignments and participating with children in various competitions just like them.

I remember how after school I came to visit my friends and played “school” with them: we wrote out letters, learned the rules, checked the multiplication tables, gave instructions to careless students! Games end quickly, and so did this one. School years are over and gone! With the past behind you, it’s very scary to step into the future...

As a child, I dreamed of becoming a teacher, just like my mother. Teach children, instill in them important skills in life, “sculpt” geniuses. And who should we take an example from, if not from our mother? At school, I liked the exact sciences most of all, and to this day, I remember with gratitude my mathematics teacher and my “cool” mother Taisiya Pavlovna Saprykina. It was thanks to her that I chose the future path to the profession of a teacher.

What is a profession? A profession is a system of knowledge, skills and abilities inherent in a particular person.

What is a calling? The human race survives through labor, and therefore the practical application of forces and abilities, work, is almost the same for a person as life - “vital activity.” It is quite possible to say that a calling is a favorite thing. A matter in which a person lives his life. Vocation is your personal meaning in life, transformed into a practical goal. Vocation is an inclination, an internal attraction to some business, some profession.

I think being a teacher is both a calling and a profession. To become a teacher you need not just to love children, but to completely devote yourself to working with them, sparing neither effort nor time. A teacher should be a role model, a standard of education, intelligence, and good manners. It is he who “sculpts” his students into a real person, a comprehensively developed personality. Without a vocation in the profession, effective teaching activity is impossible. This is a profession of the soul. It gives you the opportunity to be in the country of childhood, in the world of a child, to speak the same language with children, to understand them. And it’s so interesting and fragile! In my opinion, the worst thing in the teaching profession is indifference to children. After all, a child cannot be deceived. During my work at school, I understood one thing - children should not be deceived under any circumstances, they should not be pretended. You also need to be sincere and open with them. And then you will win their hearts. In any situation, a teacher must be honest with students, the teacher must be fluent in the subject, be able to make each lesson interesting, effective, and most importantly, memorable. A teacher must love every student equally: noisy and quiet, obedient and capricious, well-groomed and sloppy, pretty and not so pretty. For the simple reason that they, the students, are children. If a teacher is indifferent to the child’s inner world, to his experiences, he has no place in school, even if he knows his subject perfectly.

What is a profession for me? A profession is an activity through which you can realize yourself, experience a feeling of satisfaction from what you do, and feel needed and useful to society.

What does the teaching profession mean to me? This is a matter of my soul. Necessity and need are like food and air. There is no doubt that this is my life's work. Perhaps, if I had chosen another profession, it would also have become my favorite thing. In the present it is difficult to imagine.

Nowadays, working at school is difficult, but interesting. You always have to not only teach others, but also constantly learn yourself. Schools use new information technologies: computers, interactive whiteboards, projectors. We need to keep up with the times, so I study new programs, methods, and use information technology in the classroom.

School life draws you into a whirlpool of events, discoveries, emotions, squeezes you like a lemon, taking away your strength, and gives you a second wind, inspiring you to new achievements. And every time, when it seems there is no more strength left, a break comes - the long-awaited summer... At first you feel a feeling of bliss, familiar to every teacher. A school without schoolchildren... Peace and quiet... You can work on your developments, plans, submit all the tests and documentation. But a strange thing... Soon you begin to miss the hubbub and children rushing like a whirlwind through the school corridors. Thoughts begin to come to mind about what interesting things to come up with for the class, where to go with the children next school year, or ideas on how to curb a bully. And the closer September 1st is, the more often such thoughts appear, often they even come in a dream...

Teacher... This word enters the consciousness of every person at an early age and remains there all his life. The profession of a teacher is the most noble on Earth, because the teacher with his own hands creates the character, individuality, personality of the child and, ultimately, the future of his students. The teacher forms the foundation of knowledge and skills, the foundations of their worldview, works for tomorrow, educating the Citizen of his country.

I'am a teacher! And let in our time

It’s not at all fashionable to be a teacher,

I'am a teacher! And it's not a burden

Let them say otherwise, as much as they like.

And profession with a capital letter

I’m not singling out out of vanity,

I consider her the most glorious.

Article “Profession “teacher”: by vocation or? ..."

Profession« Teacher» - "By vocation, or?."

“We teach our children first. Then we ourselves learn from them. Those who do not want to do this are behind their time.”

Jan Rainis

One of the most difficult professions in the world - teacher!

Probably not everyone is capable become a teacher, because this is not for you just need to get a higher education, and it is also necessary to have a genuine desire for professions. He who has chosen the path of a teacher devotes himself entirely to education, otherwise he would not be able to instill in his students a love of knowledge.

At a new stage of time, when the speed of development of science and technology determines the tasks of education, it is necessary to constantly learn everything: And For teachers, and Students. And first of all learn build fruitful interpersonal relationships with each other.

Real Teacher grows and develops together with students, taking them into the world of the unknown. Every child has abilities and talents. And for them to open, it is necessary to master the ways, methods, techniques of the mind, soul and high Spirit!

Teacher in a modern school there is not a single source of information with a single correct point of view. Therefore, he accepts the position of a person in the person of the student, his personal opinion, his point of view, his position, which often differs from others.

Love children "convenient" who don’t contradict anyone, sit quietly, get good grades - you don’t need a lot of intelligence and strength.

Necessary learn to love those too, who contradicts, who loses interest in studying, who does not want to go to school.

These truisms should be understood by teachers of schools and universities, as well as students who have chosen this noblest and most difficult profession.

Why do you often hear from schoolchildren: - Yes, some new teacher, young and angry. He yells at us, forces us to redo the work a hundred times, and cleans up the work area after everyone. The old man was kind and never yelled at us, even when we were late...

If you turn to statistics quality of the educational process in universities over a decade and a half, we can trace the trend of growth in commercial education and a decrease in the budgetary provision of universities by the state. What are the consequences of such trends. Is quality teaching possible in schools if "paid" diplomas and weak vocational training.

Here is a review from a parent of one of the city schools about teacher professionalism: - Yes, Lord, what will you take from her? I graduated from college in absentia for money, didn’t read a single book, and still gives my child a C...

What do we have today?

Definitely a low level professional training of young specialists is due to an increase in the volume of commercial training for students! Hence the low level of competition among students entering the university. They take everyone in a row so that when it is really necessary study, many "will drop out". But global "dropouts" does not happen, since many universities have established a system for purchasing grades. Every year, issue after issue, a huge number of so-called specialists appear, including teachers, but only a few come to school, and even then without the necessary knowledge, talent and desire. Future university students are oriented in advance to the wave of commercial relations between teacher and student.

Arriving at school, a young teacher finds himself in a world of unknown relationships. teacher-student, teachers-teachers, head teacher and director, teacher-state. Lots of advice and recommendations from senior colleagues and administration, first failures and despair. How to build your pedagogical destiny in the flow of events and information boom, decide on the manner of communication with students and colleagues, and correctly navigate the process of creating your pedagogical credo?

You have to answer many questions, first of all, yourself.

How, you ask?

V. G. Belinsky said: “Without striving for something new, there is no life, no development, no progress”. These words were spoken a long time ago. But it seems to me that these words are about him, about modern teacher, about teacher who strives forward, who is ready to master everything new, innovative and successfully apply it in the practice of his work.

Modern society is inextricably linked with the process of informatization. Life itself forces us to actively use information and computer technologies (ICT) in the educational process.

The child’s brain, tuned to receiving knowledge in the form of entertainment programs on television, perceives the proposed teacher information using ICT. Hence, to the teacher It is necessary to master not only modern methods, but also new educational technologies in order to communicate in the same language with the child and continuously developing computer technologies. Before teacher The task is to educate children in such a way that they can quickly and flexibly respond to changing conditions, be able to detect new problems and tasks, and find ways to solve them.

A student of the 21st century, who came to school from the modern world, focused mainly on material values, is immersed in a completely different world - a world with predominant spiritual guidelines. Some guys express violent protest, others adapt to the demands of the school.

To the teacher It is necessary to show maximum patience and understanding, constantly improve your own level of education and organize the educational process in such a way that each student feels comfortable.

It’s difficult to be like this if you weren’t taught at university to think, search, study!

Is there a way out of this situation? Is the state ready? admit failure of the predominance of commercial education and outline ways to solve the problem? It is very difficult to answer this question.

But to answer the question: "What teacher is a calling or a diploma specialty?”, I’ll still try.

Let's try to figure out whether it is necessary vocation in the chosen profession or enough marks in the diploma of specialization.

And what is it vocation?

An inclination, an internal attraction to some matter, some professions, when you have or are convinced that you have the necessary abilities, there is vocation. Can you feel vocation to science, vocation to the music and follow your vocation.

At any profession is very important so that a person loves his work and receives spiritual satisfaction from it.

While working as a music director in a preschool educational institution, I met a very interesting person and a good teacher, Shulga Lyudmila Petrovna. Lyudmila Petrovna dreamed from early childhood become teacher and devoted her entire adult life to raising children in a preschool institution. Many dozens of grateful students remember with warmth and tenderness the years spent next to Lyudmila Petrovna. Why did this extraordinary woman and teacher fall so deeply into the hearts of her students?

To understand this, you need to be around as long as possible and have the opportunity to observe the continuous pedagogical process, which is built on inspired creativity. These include extraordinary activities, creative projects and research together with parents, magical scenarios for fairy tales and show productions, and puppet shows before bedtime. And, of course, as a result - the excellent knowledge of the lucky children who attend group No. 9 every day under the simple name "Rocket".

Yes, this is exactly the case when They say: "Works according to vocation.

But why do they say this about rare teachers? What is the secret and magic of the real and talented teachers?

Maybe in his appearance, or in his rich arsenal of knowledge. Or maybe he was in the right place at the right time and was lucky?

How to figure it out? What is the guarantee that you will succeed as teacher?

Maybe it's good to know your subject? Skillfully use didactic and methodological developments? Love children?

Or maybe you need to be able to communicate competently and effectively?

Is there something more important and something less important from the above listed in teacher profession? Many and many teachers They know their subject well, know how to use the teaching methods of the subject, love children, but do not feel satisfaction from the work they do. We often hear that the reasons for this dissatisfaction are low wages teachers. It's hard to disagree. But let’s imagine that the situation changes magically and you and I receive a decent salary, won’t all the problems that torment us disappear from our school life? Is it possible to say that there is a secret in the amount of money we receive? professional excellence?

The educational process at school is a complex system of pedagogical interaction. Pedagogical axiom reads: may be professor in the field of its subject, but if there is no relationship between teacher and students, there will be no educational results.

A teacher is a representative of the profession, which refers to the “man-man” system, and therefore, no matter what he does while fulfilling his professional responsibilities, he has to interact, communicate with other people. The more effective teacher knows how to organize this interaction, the more pleasure he receives from the results and the labor process itself. The transition to personality-oriented learning, based on respect for the child’s personality, knowledge of his characteristics and the construction of education taking into account the characteristics and needs of each, requires a change in the style of relationships between the teacher and students. Relationships are as important as lesson rules. Mastering the rules of relationships is possible only in practical activities; it is necessary to analyze actions more often, conduct self-reflection on pedagogical activities, and then what is called cooperation in pedagogy, an active type of interaction, will gradually form and develop.

Summarizing the above, it can be argued that the more information, methods and tools he uses in his work teacher The more diligently he analyzes his teaching activities, the greater the effect of his work. After all, not even the most modern computer and the fastest Internet will provide to the teacher the main thing is the ability to create, study, work on yourself, experiment and share your knowledge and experience acquired in the process of self-education. Then, probably, many years later about this the teacher will be told: « Teacher from God! How lucky we are!”

A teacher is not a profession, it is a calling of the soul. A teacher must love all children equally, as if they were his own family, feel their pain and joy, forgive their misdeeds and teach them how to live a worthy life. The reasons for our troubles lie in the fact that there are not enough teachers according to the calling of our souls for everyone. The children took their cues from people who entered the teaching profession, and paid for it by never learning to recognize where evil is and where good is, where honor is and where shame is, where conscience is and where self-interest is.
The salary of a teacher in Russia today is meager. A teacher is never rich, he is rich only in his students. He lives by their successes, rejoices in their victories, and forgives the fact that their students, having climbed the career ladder, forgot those who gave them knowledge and invested particles of their souls in them.
Random people in the teaching profession are those whose potential does not correspond to either the small salary or the social status of the teacher. This is the most terrible misfortune of our society. A worthy person cannot be raised by buying lessons. A worthy person is brought up by the personal example of the teacher, his knowledge of life and the ability to endure injustice in relation to himself, and not tolerate it in relation to his students. A teacher by vocation is an example of selfless service to society.
All the best in me is what I absorbed from my teachers. Sometimes my memory takes me back to the past, to my childhood, when it seemed that a bright life lay ahead and all my dreams would certainly come true. Some of those boys and girls who studied in the same class with me are no longer in this world. This world turned out to be too harsh and cruel for us.
At the moment of testing, something flared up inside me that was invested in me at the very beginning of my life’s journey. When the need arises to choose between selfishness, which promises immediate gain, or the voice of conscience, calling for patience, I thought about how my teachers would evaluate my choice. The passage of time does not erase in the memory of people the meanness of the departed, and keeps in gratitude the deeds of the just. And then the choice of my path became obvious to me. It will not contain benefits purchased by a deal with conscience. At least I want to believe that Allah Almighty will protect me from this.
Our childhood was very much connected with school. After classes, I had to run home, learn my homework, and then rush back to the sports section or extracurricular activities. Studying, sports and extracurricular activities - everything was closely interconnected. Having lived most of my life, I understand how much effort was invested in giving a good level of education to us, simple rural boys and girls.
I remember during basketball practice, a quarrel broke out between the participants in the game. Our coach built everyone up and taught us such a lesson in life that I have not forgotten to this day, although thirty years have passed since then. His words came from the heart, they contained pain for our neglect of each other, our inability to maintain our dignity and control our emotions, our inability to be honest in the game, and therefore, perhaps, in our future life...
One day we were taken to the republican competition in the military sports game “Zarnitsa” in the village. Shawls, to the tank training ground.
We happily set up tents, lit a fire in the evening, sang songs, and enjoyed life. At night there was such a heavy downpour that water poured down from the hillock and filled our tents and wet our sleeping bags. In general, in the pouring rain, we reinstalled them on a hillock, and no one whined, because our teachers managed to convince everyone that this was a pleasant adventure that would be remembered for a lifetime. It was impossible to sleep in wet sleeping bags; wet to the skin and happy, we sat until the morning, listening to the sound of raindrops on the tarpaulin of the tent, and talking about life, and what we should be like in this life.
In the morning, in a huge tent in which the dining room was set up, they brought us cold tea and stale pasta. One girl expressed her dissatisfaction with such food and, accustomed to military life, the old ensign commented obscenely on his vision of the situation. The girl burst into tears and ran out of the dining room. The entire team refused breakfast in solidarity with her. Our teacher was called to the carpet before the highest authorities for such a demarche, he was scolded, he was threatened, but he firmly stood his ground. Either the ensign will apologize to the children in front of everyone, or he will force him to do it by force. The litigation continued for several days, we were rudely and openly condemned in all competitions, but the will and desire for justice of the teacher broke the system. The high authorities came to us with the ensign, and he apologized to everyone. We did not realize then what it cost our mentor, and why he considered it impossible for himself to give in. After the competition, the teacher quit his favorite job and left the republic, but what a life lesson he taught us! But this is a person with a very gentle character.
Turning over the pages of my life in my memory, I realize that this was one of the happiest episodes of my life, because one real teacher defended a little justice in an unequal struggle in order to inspire us, his students, that we can and should fight for justice. And for this he paid with his profession.
As a sign of protest, we decided that we would no longer go to physical education class in sportswear, but one real teacher was replaced by another real person and teacher. This rarely happens in life, but it does happen.
We are very lucky that our small rural school has a galaxy of bright teachers who came to the profession according to the calling of their souls. I remember with gratitude Magomed Mikailovich, the physics teacher, and the head teacher of the school. There were no kids in his class who were sitting through their lessons. Excellent students rarely answered, because the line practically never reached them. The most complex materials were explained on the basis of phenomena familiar to everyone, and physics was a favorite subject even among inveterate poor students. His passing was a real loss for the entire village; such people leave their indelible mark on life. Even during the time of strong Soviet power, Magomed Mikailovich foresaw the coming changes and prepared his students for them. A person in any situation must remain a person, and not descend to the level of predatory animals living by instincts...
A teacher is a sower, he sows the fruits of knowledge and prudence, and if the sower is a worthy worker, then his work will certainly bear fruit. Today it is very difficult to be a real teacher in our schools, and not because there are no people worthy of this profession. The fact is that people who sincerely support their work are forced out of the profession... by their parents.
Each school has its own story about why good teachers leave, and no one can say why parents whose children received bad grades come to deal with teachers. Why are they sure that the teacher who objectively assessed the knowledge is to blame, and not their child who does not learn lessons? Apparently, these parents did not have real teachers in their lives, but only those who accidentally fell into the profession.
